The KDevelop-Project was founded in 1998 to build up an easy to use IDE (Integrated Development Environment) for KDE. Since then, the KDevelop IDE is publicly available under the GPL and supports many programming languages, including Pascal, Haskell, BASH and to a lesser extent Java.

In all kubuntu versionsi tried sofar the depencies were badly treated i.e. nonexistent
i just tried feisty4, it ships kdevelop in main, which is progress. hoever i cannot make it to comile a simple KDE Application Framework, because simple thngs like make, autoconf, automake are not automatically installed or worse not available in the required version. This is IMO not a good thing. A suggestion for feature enhancment would be to support refactoring by providing the capability to remove a class from the project. i now have to do that from outside kdevelop and always forget to modify at least one file.
Regardless the above i find it an excellent product.
best regards
