Google just released a linux client for google earth it is currently listed as beta but I have used and tested it and it seems stable. This program allows you view all sorts of places across the globe with almost infinite detail.

UPDATE: This is the new beta client release for linux

	This is a wonderful program, and I suggest that one visits GEwar (at gewar.net) which is a war game that utilizes Google Earth for visual aspects of the game, I recomend that you visit if you download Google Earth.
