Customizable, non-proprietary, cross platform, extensible tool that will help enable new ways to playback, manage, and discover music. IMHO, Songbird is better than the likes of Rhythmbox, Exaile, Amarok, Audacious and dare I say iTunes. While there's still work to be done, it's already an excellent music player.
Songbird has a built-in browser and integration with music sites like SHOUTcast, Last.fm, Magnatune, Jamendo etc. It also supports skins, lots of add-ons and extensions, smart playlists, album art, metadata management.
Songbird also has iPod and MTP device (iRiver, Creative, Meizu, Motorola, MPMan, Nokia, etc.) support.
